Get Trained

The best way to help during a disaster is to be trained BEFORE it happens. We strongly encourage you to register with organizations, like HandsOn Greater Phoenix or others listed below, that will train you in disaster preparedness and response. Such training allows you to be effective when a disaster strikes your community - or anywhere in the country.

• HandsOn Greater Phoenix Disaster Response Corps - to attend Disaster Response Corps orientation or to express interest in joining the Disaster Response Corps, contact Duane Shearer.

• The local Arizona Chapter of the American Red Cross offers ongoing classes to become a trained Disaster Volunteer, including CPR/First Aid.

• Become a part of The Salvation Army Volunteer Emergency Disaster Services program.

• The City of Phoenix' CERT Program (Community Emergency Response Team) offers regularly scheduled training academies that prepare citizens to protect themselves, their families and their communities in the hours and days after disaster strikes.
