Bookworm Buddies is a literacy program where volunteers dedicate a semester or more in the classroom as literacy tutors and mentors to 4th grade students who are below the state standard for their grade level in writing, reading or mathematics.

Volunteers:
• work with teachers in the classroom for a minimum of semester (entire school year encouraged), one or more hours a week in the Osborn School District
• receive training on mentoring and tutoring techniques, reading and math strategies, as well as information about working with diverse populations
• work closely with teachers to help students one-on-one and/or in small groups
• times varying based on volunteer and school schedules

Application, fingerprinting and training required.

Compare all three programs to see which is right for you!
